Is Prodigy English a completely separate game from Prodigy Math?
Yes. Prodigy English is a completely separate game from Prodigy Math. Prodigy English is a life simulation game where users control a character who builds their dream village. Prodigy Math is a MMORPG where characters go on an adventure rescuing pets, battling monsters and other things.
What standards is Prodigy English using?
Prodigy English is aligned to Grades 1-6 Common Core English standards and shows kids skills across the reading and language threads based on our English learning algorithm.
How will the English questions in the game differ by grade?
As your child progresses through the educational content, Prodigy adjusts the difficulty of the questions presented, ranging from the child's initially placed grade to questions and content that are appropriate based on their learning progress.
Will there be similar Parent features for Prodigy English as there are for Prodigy Math?
Yes. We are working hard on bringing your favorite Level Up and Ultimate Parent features to Prodigy English. However, for now we only support dashboard functionality and membership management. Additional Parent features will be coming soon to the Parent product.
Will the game be teaching children?
Prodigy English is a practice tool for children to reinforce English concepts. When a child gets a question right, they are shown more difficult questions in the future, when a child gets a question wrong, they are shown questions of similar or reduced difficulty. Prodigy’s adaptive algorithm allows each child and student to always be making progress in their learning journey.
Will there be accessibility options for children, like being able to hear the question rather than reading it themselves?
Yes. Prodigy English offers a variety of accessibility features to make the game fun for everyone. Children can opt to have each question read out aloud or adjust the size of the font and visuals on mobile devices to allow for maximum learning efficiency!
Safety and Privacy
When playing the game, no personal information, or inappropriate language can be shared or seen by any other user. Both Prodigy English and Prodigy Math have privacy and user protection features built into the game - player to player communications in game are limited to a list of pre-selected and child-friendly quotes and phrases.
Prodigy is serious about protecting the privacy of teachers, parents and students. We have partnered with an independent privacy expert (iKeepSafe) to ensure full compliance with all federal privacy legislation (like FERPA and COPPA) as well as state legislation (like SOPIPA or AB1584 in California).
How do I cancel my Prodigy English membership?
Canceling a Prodigy Membership is easy, and can be done at any time. If you wish to cancel a membership, log into your Parent account, and go to the Memberships page.
