How does the contest work?
Each month we’ll be hosting a State Challenge where schools will compete directly over which can answer the most math questions correctly with Prodigy in their region! How they perform during State Challenge also influences which tier they’ll be competing in for the Prodigy National Cup at the end of the school year, with even more incredible prizes up for grabs!
State Challenge
Each month, all questions answered correctly on Prodigy Math will count towards that month’s State Challenge total for their school.
- During the monthly contests, every correct answer by a student equals one point for that school. Teachers can track their school’s progress via a leaderboard, which is updated daily and can be found in their Prodigy Teacher Dashboard. The more classrooms and students participating, the more questions can be answered - increasing your school’s chances of winning a prize - so get recruiting!
- At the end of the month, the school with the most correct answers and points in their state becomes their State Champion for that period! Winning schools will then be contacted by Prodigy to coordinate prizes.
Prodigy National Cup
- At the conclusion of every monthly contest, and depending on their state ranking, schools will also receive points which count towards the Prodigy National Cup - our national-level contest with a grand prize of a $100,000 tech grant!
- A school’s points total from State Challenge will dictate which tier they are placed in for the Prodigy National Cup, with Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze prizes up for grabs.
- Platinum: Schools ranking in the top 25% of total points will compete for our grand prize of a $100,000 tech grant.
- Gold: Schools ranking 26-50% for total points will compete for a $10,000 tech grant.
- Silver: Schools ranking 51-75% for total points will compete for a $5,000 tech grant.
- Bronze: Schools ranking 76-100% for total points will compete for a school pizza party.
- From May 1 to May 14 2025, schools will then compete to answer as many questions correctly as possible, competing for the relevant prizes within their assigned tiers.
- Teachers can track their Prodigy National Cup ranking - including which tier they are currently tracking towards at any given moment - from within their Teacher Dashboard.
How do I enter?
All classrooms meeting the entry criteria are automatically opted in to Prodigy State Challenge and the Prodigy National Cup. This includes any classroom with an active teacher account, with other criteria including:
- Teachers should make sure their classroom is connected to a school that is listed in Prodigy’s database. Schools must be located in one of the 50 states or Washington D.C. to be eligible.
- If you do not see your school listed, you can make a request for it to be added from within your Prodigy Teacher Dashboard.
- Students must be connected to their teacher through Prodigy for question answers to count. Please review this support article for assistance.
- The classroom must also have had a student attached within the current school year. Old classrooms with the same students year-over-year will not be eligible.
- For further assistance in ensuring your classroom is set-up to be eligible, please contact our support team here.
Teachers also have the option to opt-out of the contest if they would prefer, and can do this from within their Teacher Dashboard. Opting out ensures any questions answered will not be counted towards the State Challenge.
Is there a cost to entering?
